Welcome to the Bentleigh West Primary School Performing Arts Program!

At Bentleigh West Primary School, we believe in fostering creativity, self-expression, and confidence through our dynamic Performing Arts Program. Our program encompasses music, drama, dance, and film & television, providing students with a well-rounded education in the arts. Every alternate year, we produce a large scale junior broadway production at a professional theatre featuring our senior students.

ABOUT
Our Performing Arts Program is designed to ignite a passion for the arts in our students while nurturing their talents and abilities. Through engaging lessons and hands-on experiences, students explore various aspects of performing arts, develop their skills, and showcase their talents.

MUSIC

From singing to playing instruments, our music curriculum offers a range of opportunities for students to explore rhythm, melody, and harmony. Students learn popular songs and participate in choir activities, fostering teamwork and a love for music.

DRAMA

Through drama activities, students unleash their creativity and imagination. They explore storytelling, character development, and improvisation, building confidence both on and off the stage.

DANCE

Our dance program introduces students to a variety of dance styles, including contemporary, hip-hop, and jazz. Students learn choreography, improve coordination, and express themselves through movement.

FILM & TELEVISION

In our film & Television subject, students delve into the world of visual storytelling. They learn about camera techniques, scriptwriting, and acting for the camera, culminating in the creation of short films and television sketches.

ACTIVITIES AND SONGS
We understand the importance of practice and reinforcement outside of the classroom. That's why we provide access to activities and songs used in class so students can continue to enjoy and practice at home. From catchy tunes to fun dance routines, students can keep the performing arts alive in their own space.
